Creative Ways to Save Money

I found a great site called greenliving.suite101.com. There I found a quote I really like: “Being frugal does not mean you have to go without; but it can mean finding new ways to eat and live your life.” The quote was at the beginning of a nice article that is fill of creative ways to save money.
They had a lot of great tips that I really liked for saving money in a variety of areas in your budget. Here are a few of my favorites:
- Share trash pickup costs. If you have to pay a fee for trash pickup from a private firm and you typically have a small amount of garbage, you might ask a neighbor if you can share the cost (and the can) with them. This is especially doable for single people and/or the elderly.
- Share bulk food items with others. Many people do not need a case of tuna fish or a ten-pound bag of carrots, but sharing a bulk purchase with one or two other people can give all of you just the right amount and save you money. Discuss this idea with close friends or relatives.
- Air dry your clothes. Clotheslines are making a comeback. Join the movement. At the very least, you can air dry the clothes most of the way and then toss them into the dryer for 10 minutes to freshen and fluff them.
